feeling a bit tired................
Hi All ,
My 96 v8 is feeling a little tired (220,000k's) bout now.Just after some advice about my options ;rebuild the 3.9 or engine swap$$?
I know an LS1 is an option but I think I heard of a Toyota 4lt v8 might fit?
Im not looking for a race car just a bit more oomf when towing and play time.Any info would be greatly taken on board..

I'm guessing it all comes down to how deep your pockets are!
I'm just about to launch into rebuilding my 1997 V8, and I'm banking on spending <$1000 (dependant on whether I need the heads skimming or anything else I can't do myself).

Without a doubt the easiest and cheapest way is to put a good secondhand 4.6 out of a range rover in it. it bolts straight in, the fuel economy is better, the power is unbelievebly better and you should be able to drive it in get the work done and drive away for under 6k
if you have the facilities to carry out the work yourself then factor in about 3.5 to 4k for the engine
