Hey folks. Sadly my rover has met a tragic end. I have a 96 disco v8i. We are down in Tassie and I know how hard it is to find disco parts here. The body is no good as we rolled twice down an embankment at Lebrina on Friday. Made the news down here and all. My missus, 2 kids, dog and myself all walked away alive. I will be getting another disco (perhaps a d2) after these events having a good outcome and the kids only having a bruise from things flying around. Although the thought has crossed my mind of finding a d1 that only needs running gear, I would still prefer a d2. I'm told it will run with a new fuel pump and the running gear is all ok, but I haven't seen it since the excitement happened. The pic was the one taken by the examiner news paper in tassie.

Holy crap.

Super super scary, very relieved as you must be that you are all safe and well.

I assume you were the driver? It would be the worst feeling tumbling down, all you would be thinking about is your kids! (and maybe your dog), oh, and maybe your mrs!

Why don't you skip a couple of generations and get a D4

Yes, I saw this on the weekend. I said to my wife, "that's a waste of a nice disco".
Anyway, glad you guys walked out OK. Would have been a different story in a lesser vehcile.

Thank you for the concern. I wasn't driving the missus was. because of the greasy roads we lost traction and going lock to lock before going down the bank. I got told by a mate the Disco isn't as bad as what it looked. If it had of been any other car....... I think it would be fair to say I would more than likely not walked away if we were in any other car, my seat belt come undone half way through the first roll. but as I said "I'd like to find some one who can put her to better use" so Brian if any of your mates or even yourself need a spare disco...... let me know the car is only an hour away from where you are. I'm happy to negotiate if any one is interested.

Thanks, will mention to Andy up the road too. He's a forumite who has had engine trouble lately. Although I think he has had enough of LRs. I think he will sell when its going again. He's back to his Toyotas

ps, was it a manual or auto?
Good to see you getting another Disco! Like Zuno555 says, skip a couple of generations and get a D4. Looks like LR have finally got it together with the D4! Better than the 200 series LC!

got the auto box. and alloy rims. as far as im aware its only the panels that are hurt

Sorry to hear it mate, but as long as the family is all OK thats the main thing.

On the positive, you can part out the disco and actually recover quite a bit of money from it.

Terrible event, glad all are OK. The non function of the fuel pump is probably due to the inertia switch, shuts off fuel pump after rollover or impact.
Should be under dash, next to steering column, or if hazards are still flashing, it'll be part of the alarm/ immobiliser unit and should be reset with a lock/ unlock cycle by the key fob, or battery disconnect/ reconnect.
