I thought i'd ask considering i've tried in other cars and broken something..
to remove it, is just 4 screws, 2 behind ash tray and 2 behind the switch spot... and then??? clips up top i imagine..
is that how you gain access to the cigarette lighter? i want to put in 2 12v DC plugs, one for the sat nav when i get one (probably on the top next the the drivers display...) and one in the back for a fridge..
will the wires already going to the original cigarette lighter support 2 more 12v DC plugs?
As said I would not run power from the lighter plug. Usually not up to the task. I ran two lots of heavy wires to the rear, one set from the Main Bat and one from the Aux bat and put a distribution board in the back. This give me the option of plugging my gear into either, such as if the Aux bat runs flat or fails i have the option of plugging into the main. Just as easy to run two as one. Also run a 12v into the cabin it the same time for GPS etc. For the GPS a double adaptor off the existing socket would be fine.
Cheers, David.

Hi pistolpete, I have run off my aux battery an 8 way fuse box so you know where your fuses are . I have also run a 6mm cable to the rear for my fridge and 4mm for all other bits.
The wire that is run to cig lighters is good for your satnav and phone chargers and thats about it. Try using merrit or hella plugs for your bits as they lock in place and get a better connection.
Hope this helps.
