I have installed a mini Intel computer in my Discovery which I run all of my music, Videos (It's great listening to Billy Connolly while driving along), GPS and radio from it.
Is anyone interested in how I installed it? Where I put it? What components?
etc etc etc.
If so, ask me some questions and I'll do my best to help you.

Projects Section!!??
That is what I was trying to find. I went through the Computer section and it was all about people having hassles with their home computers. Nothin about Car Computers.
I thought that this Forum had a section on Car Computers but I couldn't find anything.
Well, anyway most guys who fit computers in Discoveries tend to put them behind the Centre Consol where the passengers in the back seat would have their feet.
I wanted a better place than that and was hoping to get it out of sight completely.
I found a great spot up above the glove box where it sits perfectly. The only alteration I had to make was to chop about 50mm from the side of the glove box at the very back. You can't see it and it doesn't effect anything.
I have all the wires amassing in the space where the Radio once sat. I also have my Wifi usb modem sitting there too. The LCD screen sits above the dash in the "Pencil Compartment" . It has been there for 8 months now and hasn't faultered once. It is also a Touchscreen.
The wires from The Screen wires slip behind the screen and go through the "Pencil Compartment" into the space made by the removal of the Radio.
I run XP as an operating system and "Centrafuse" as the "Shell". centrafuse is a great front end and allows you to run a AM FM Radio, Satnav, Video, Music, Web access, Satellite Radio, Phone Operation, Engine Diagnostics, plus heaps more I can't think of right now.
The computer runs a solid state hard drive, and a great little power supply that turns the computer on and off with the Ignition Key. I have a second Battery to run the computer as well as other accessories and that's about all I can think of at the moment.
You will have to ask me specific questions.

remember it didnt happen if you have no pictures!!!
This is a view looking up in the Glove Box. The computer is housed in that BlackBox.
The 3 pronged bracket is already in the car all I had to do was bend it a little and it does the job perfectly.
This is a view looking up at the back of the glove box to show where I had to cut out
the piece to fit in the Computer.
But when sitting in any seat and looking into the glove box you don't see any of this.
It just looks normal!
This is the Touchscreen with Centrafuse showing.
Another look at the Touchscreen
Looking straight into the Glove Box
what do you do with the screen when you park up in shopping centres?
