By rated I assume you mean with a Safe Working Load (SWL) or Working Load Limit (WLL) approved by Australian Standards (AS), if so you need to go to a riggers supply store like Blackwoods.
These bits of flat plate with a few holes drilled in them available from most 4WD shops are not rated and will cause damage to shackles, bull bars and chassis. So if you want quality rated products go to Industrial/Rigger supply outlets , Regards Frank.

    Ken,

If you are looking for a rated recovery point, dont forget that not only does the attachment need to be rated but you also need to look at the way it is mounted.

Unless you are spending exceptional amounts of money on engineering assessment the only rated point that you will have is a tow bar (and dont snatch using a towball).

    cheers

One of the few recognised recovery points for a Landrover is a Jate ring, used by the British Army on all their Landrovers.

4x4Intelligence advertise front recovery points for D1's. I dont know what they are like but may be worth a call.

and if you are going to use the rear hayman reese type towbar as a recovery point, get yourself one of these from any reputable 4x4 outlet, only about $50
