Flexi Flares without cutting guards

Well, just had the new suspension fitted on friday, so thought i'd post a couple of pics.

Also did a check of my speedo today to see how accurate it is with the current 245/70/16's. Speedo is over-reading by about 5% (ie. speedo shows 110kmph - gps reading is 105kmph). Thinking that increasing tyre size to 245/75/16 should make the speedo about right.

Considering mounting them on some 16x8 sunrasia style rims with a 0mm offset and some D2 style flares. Anyone else using this rim/tyre combo?

Strange, i run bfg at's in 245/70 and with my gps my speedo is only 1-2 % out which is close enough to spot on. I cant see any benefit on fitting this size tyre on wider rims, you will lower the sidewall height and by having wider rims will induce more chance of scrubbing on the outer guard lip and the flares will only be cosmetic.

245/75/16 on my car..is spot on was tested by a proper place for my engineers certifcate

Might be the fact that they are getting low on tread. That will have reduced the tyre diameter by around 10-12mm.

How do you like the bfg at's loanrangie?

perhaps you should join our club.
if you fit offset wheels, you will need to cut guards.

They are ok i guess, agressive enough to not have to run muddy's all the time yet quiet and so far been good on wet tarmac.
