    thanks mate, now to find me a set, they look almost like a factory fit....well done

    after a quick serach on google, it appears the thermos' on the Mondeo's from 95 to 00 were all the same, we didnt have the mondeo again until 2007. so I am guessing its the earlier Mondeo you need.

    Exact same width of the V8 radiator .... and whilst your looking at the wreck ... Dive in there and cut out the fan relay block .....

    What do you guys do about the aircon condensor fans when you fit these.

    The aircon fans take 7amps or so each and the Falcon fans probably quite a bit more (10 amps?each ), so at idle the alternator only makes about 14 amps or so, and the battery would be going backwards at a great rate of knots. Has anyone sussed out the amps of the Falcon fans?

    I am reluctant to remove the aircon fans as when I went up to The GRR , both my condenser fans failed and the head pressure of the aircon went through the roof, stopping the car from cranking.

    That was with the viscous on. It may be a different story with 2 big electrics,particularly if the seal between the condenser and radiator is enhanced.

    the air con fans are in front of the condensor (just behind the grille ) whereas the fans we are installing go behind the radiator which means you now have four electric fans(you remove your engine fan)
    i wired the mondao fans seperatley so no load was on the existing wiring etc.
    i believe the fans pull about 90w each, so you really need good wiring to the fans
    i also have my condensor fans wired to an override switch so i can turn them on withiut the aircon on which gives me four working fans however sofar i have not needed this and when i put them on the car runs too cool pkus you can hear the load on the alternator

    2door they are the exact same fans as i have in my car , you will notice the dropping resistor in the lower corner which i did not use but you could use this to run fans at two speeds
    While i agree that the falcon fans are more common they do require a little cutting here and there to fit where the mondao fans go straight in
    also the wreckers i went to had three mondaos that they were wrecking

    i just re read your point and would have to agree the poor alternator is probably working overtime, however i have provision for dual batteries (not finished yet) and was discussing this issue with my sparky friend, he has a dc claamp meter and we are going to test the drain on the alt/bat with all four fans running then i will test also with headlights on this will help determine the actual draw of the units while running
    i will post results for everyone when done but will have to wait until rain stops here

    The A/C condensor fans of the Rover (RRC) are removed ... (in the bin)

    I'm using the switch line of the A/C (fans) to turn ON the LOW relay side of the thermo fans

    The HIGH relay, auto ON switch, comes off the "temp sender switch" located on the thermostat housing .... I had to add 2 extra relays to the ford relay block, to get everything happening
    Also have a manual ON switch bridged in


    ... BUT the deal is .... have a good size battery to take care of the sudden draw when the fans turn ON .... plus make sure the Alternator is at least the 100 amp job // Those 55 amp ones won't keep up ... (flat batteries will be had)



    Spambo, do you know if the Modeo fans pull more air than the one's I'm using

    i cannot say but the falcon fans LOOK a little larger
    is there any way to test the cfm of these fans as i have access to both for testing?

    Yes, it looks larger ... but that does not mean it pulls more air ... Tho both appear to have the same design of the fan blades.



    No real way of testing them (unless you have 1 of those lab air flow meters) ... other than standing them both up on floor, Direct hookup to a battery, and feeling the difference ... Kinda a "guestamet"

    You should be able to notice it, if 1 is pulls more air
