    96 exhaust issues

I Have been having some exhaust issues for a while with my 96 build 3.9 discovery, so i went looking through countless books etc and found that I should have catalytic convertors but have worked out that maybe it has 3.5 collectors on it. Is this correct for an unleaded disco? Does any one else have the same setup or did the previous owner do this for economy issues?

Some 4WDs and commercial utes were sold in Oz without cats as late as 2002. Everyone knows 4WD's and utes don't add to city air pollution.

It mostly leaks and i did have a cracked manifold which cracked the leads from excessive heat applied to them, i attempted to weld up the manifold but it twisted and wouldnt go back on to the heads, so i got a second hand mainfold and that partly fixed it then the engine pipes wouldnt seal ...argh the pleasures of a Land rover

Nothing to do with Landrover, can happen on any vehicle,

Did you fit the manifold, fit a new flange gasket, get the threads on the exhaust/flange started, jack the exhaust from underneath and do up the flange nuts.

If it's all to hard to do this, pay a car exhaust place to do it for you
