    Cool MY Disco is humming

So many of us only seem to post when we are in need, or our car is making strange noises etc. and I am no different but, I thought I would just post for a change that my Disco is hummin!

I just did a trip form the Sunshine Coast to Goondiwindi and back again and my TDI Disco couldn't have performed better.

I sat on 100-120 most of the way and still got about 25mpg, or 8.5 ks to the litre. I was probably doing more like 115 on average!
You know there is no better feeling than driving a car that you have worked on, tuning, suspension lifts and engine adjustments that just purrs like a kitten all the way!
Even the Mrs was impressed by it's performance. I started the "Turbo Lag" thread and I took the advice of doing some careful adjustments with the Fuel Injection pump, and the difference is very very noticeable.
I'm glad that I didn't go and spend $1200 on a bigger Intercooler or bigger Turbo because the necessary power is already in the stock engine imo.
I am not a Rev Head, but it's nice to have some power there if you need it.

While I'm at it. Can anyone tell me how to clean out and flush through the Brake lines with new fluid without having to go around and bleed all the brakes??
I thought there may be a way of flushing the lines with new fluid without getting air into the system. Is there????
    Thanks for any help!

Well any flush will hopefully not get air into the system.
All a flush is, is a big bleed.
To flush, first syringe out as much as possible from the master cylinder , then refill with new fluid.
Then bleed as you would normally, except continue bleeding until the fresh fluid comes through the nipple on each wheel. I try to use a different coloured fluid so it is easy to tell. the Supercheap DOT4 fluid is bright green so stands out from the yellow stuff.
I use either a pressure bleeder or a vacuum pump"Mityvac" on mine so that I can do it singlehanded.
    Regards Philip A

Last time I told someone my Disco TDi was humming a front wheel bearing **** itself that very same day!

Then again I've uttered complimentary words to that effect within earshot of the truck quite a few times and she's behaved herself impeccably, proving me to be no liar.
