Try the Trading post or Crap Bay (Ebay). I got a black one second hand from a guy who upgraded to a series 2 disco then relised that it wouldn't fit. Picked it up for around $600. that was back when the Series 2 was new.

Have a look at Trade Me ? New Zealand online auctions and classifieds. Browse, buy and sell online on trademe.co.nz.
Seems there is always a D1 bar on there.
Only people with an Oz or Kiwi email account can sign up but anyone can look at it.
If you can get a good deal on shipping the prices aren't to bad.

Just be aware with bullbars that if your D1 has crush cans you will need to buy a SRS BB to be legal. I too didnt want to spend $1500 so got a D2 nudge bar and fixed it up (see Projects section) and does a great job holding the spotties. Mind you, its not a BB so wont offer the same protection.
