not alot of help, managed to sort something out to get to that last bolt,
got it off in the end, anyone fixed a bosch starter? just clean and lube? the brushes seem to have plenty left on them, everything is just very dry.. plenty of voltage going to the starter when in the car, symptom was a clicking solenoid wich i presume was stuck due to mud and water crossings.
    is that about it?
    thanks

Don't recall there being anything special about them when I had mine apart a while back.
Just give it a good clean out, lube it up - but most important - give it a test run using a set of jumper leads before you bother bolting it back in.
Make sure the solenoid is engaging and releasing freely. PITA to refit and find that it doesn't work for some reason.

Its also possible the problem is just a poor earth strap between engine and chassis. It would still show good voltage to the starter, but not flow enough current to work properly.
its worthwhile checking the earth strap while you're at it.
