    Rear yes
Front yes - if it is a truetrack

I've been running a front true track for 2 years and it is great in the sand and going through mud/bog holes.

Our Disco is our daily driver and there is no noticeable difference when on road.

Thanks for the info I have gone for a Detroit locker in the rear for the moment and will look at the front later as I have run out of funds.Thats because I have also bought 3.8 diff gears as well as heavy duty axles & CV's.

Rear lockers are good for going up hills when the weight shifts to the back, and with all but limited slip lockers you need to upgrade your axils and CVs.

You should feel confident that your set up will not let you down. Have fun out there.

    yes AND no.

Using a detroit in the rear of a viscous coupled RRC could lead to unintentional locking around corners due to the loading on the rear diff caused by the transfer case viscous unit. In that case, a pair of trutracs instead would make it a formidable performer, especially if you had rear TC fitted, IE 1993 Vogue se with ABS...

I have a detroit rear and a open front, works fantastically. A trutrack and upgraded axles etc will be fitted to the front eventually though I think, more for strength than anything else.

I've been told by a mechanic that when you put a TrueTrac up front, it improves the steering if you Disco has been lifted too high and the caster is off....

    Anyone noticed this?

True Track is not a locker - so the answer is Yes - No - but you can put in a True Track LSD in the front or rear.

A truetrack isn't a locker. My original response still stands.
