I haven't needed to do this job yet and it looks as if the car in the link is an early non-update D1, but here it is anyway - it may help: Untitled Document

Well this turned into a job from HELL....

The electrical connections on the wing mirror did not fit through the hole so I could not rase the window frame up more than 40mm.

There were tiny nylock nuts on the rod from the inside door handle that I could not get off due to lack of tools.

There was a funny one way clip that was a pain to take off without breaking.

As I could not get the lock all the way out of the door putting the new spring in was tortuous.

Then when I put it back together one of the main U shaped rods had come away from the body of the lock. Do not ask me how it got free without breaking the lock, all I know was that it took a lot of courage to try to force it back in again.

Oh yes, one more reason for my slow progress was the fact that I seemed to have a different rod and door lock set up from either the posts on this forum or the diagrams in rave.

It took me six hours, including having to dismantle the drivers side door to find out how to put it all back together again.

so NO, I do not have any photos.

Crikey sounds like you had some dramas

didn't take Ian that long and he never even had a tutorial to follow...

I wonder what was so different about your car to others.

I haven't looked at the other tutorials but I have no Idea why you would need to lift the window frame?????

I think Ian on the other doors may of even done them in situ without pulling the mechanism out..fiddly though.

Still you got it done thats the main thing..and the next time it happens and you know from doing it last time, should take yeah 30mins tops hahahahhahahahahah
