Yes .... That little black hose goes to the fuel pressure regulator, located on the Fuel rail

So are you saying that you don't have a vacuum leak??
There are 2 hoses coming off the back, one i don’t know, the other to a green plastic thing with wires coming out and disappearing though the fire wall.
Well once i put the hose back on all was good. the only other problems are, that when i put the POD filter back on idle when to crap again. so im searching for a vacuum leak, but then a mate turned up and pointed out that since the filter is against the MAF that it could be stuffing up the air flow. So moved it out a couple of inches and its all good.

last problem is the possible liner

So all is fine .... It's good to hear the feedback so that others can read the results

Slipped liner? .... the 3.9 motor is fairly robust

Instead of a pod filter I suggest you get an early Disco/RR 3.9 tin can air cleaner assembly instead, then there's some hope of keeping the dust out. Pod filters are dangerous and fitted mainly by children.

I used to run one on my EFI WB and it had a very hard life. I never saw any visual indication of dust getting past it.

Having said that, my current project WB will be getting a Commodore airbox and genuine Subaru air filter (the best filters I have seen).

You probably maintained it, most people don't! You should see them after a backfire on gas. There's not much left other than the mesh! Pod filters are usually fitted to gas cars after the air box has been destroyed. I see them as a failure in tuning but of course that doesn't apply to petrol only.

I used to clean and reoil pretty regularly. Having said that, I had seen it so badly caked in dirt that you could barely see the corrugations in the material.

I may have done my fair share of circle work at B and S balls in that ute .

    OK update

Slipped liner confirmed so i had another motor dropped in.

But it was good with the advice from here to be able to get a ratty motor run well.

British 4x4 dropped the replacement motor in ( freebee). the cost spiraled as it usually does after doing a few gaskets and popping the heads for a skim etc, leads cap etc etc etc etc etc etc. now she’s running like a dream.

Had a bit of a scare. SWMBO rang me at work to say there’s water on the drive and no its not from the same place as the aircon drips, its much more and its green.

Had me stumped and think of the worse. But i think its actually a stuffed cap as it blows air in and out when you squeeze a radiator hose and there’s no pressure on a hot motor. ___ shopping on Tuesday.

That leaves 1 of the sunroofs to sort out and the LPG to get running. I was told that the fuse had just been removed, put that back in so that’s not the problem.

When you turn the LPG on, you can hear the click from the tank, and obviously the fuel is cut ( because you will stop). Chucked a meter on the valve on the firewall. 0 resistance but there is 0 resistance on the power supply as well ??

Went to chuck on some decent rubber 15” rims 31” rubber but then realized I didn’t have any nuts, sheeesh.------- shopping on Tuesday
