Do you or anyone else have favourite suppliers from Europe? That would at least give me a starting point.

    Thanks, Erik
Try this mob they have a good reputation and also are ok with getting back to you.

is it more power you want?

I read a long time ago (LRO mag) that a brazialian company had the rights to the TDi and were making one with a longer stroke 2.8l for a van. Anyone have any ideas if this is an aftermarket posibility available in here?

Keep your moter and stroke it?

The international HS 2.8. Not made any more. There are a few people who have them fitted. They were $$$$ when available. IMHO you would be better off fitting a 4JB1 (2.8).

New dressed head, 4 new piston/ring sets and some other associated engine parts delivered for A$1300. Linished crank, honed and decked block, new cam bearings and associated gaskets, etc $430.

So essentially fully reco long 300 tdi for less than A$2000.

Parts sourced from Turners (UK), delivered inside the week. As you see, if you can do it yourself and the bore size is standard, it's not that expensive.

    FWIW

    Cheers

I dont, I havent really shopped for bits overseas but I'll be getting a new cylinder head eventually as Bruce said mine had soft spots in it and said it would need close monitoring, any sign of failure and its off with it and on with a new one.

Check out the 300Tdi Cylinder thread in this forum, guys in there talking about a mob in the UK called turners with much cheaper than Oz prices for a Cylinder head and all the bits delivered to Oz.

Thats an awsome price, I dont think I could find a bare head for less than $1200 when I was doing my engine.

    Engine import from the UK?

Does anyone know any info on this guy, who is selling reconditioned engines on ebay in the UK? He will freight an engine here for about 350 pounds. Still considering options, now that I have taken the head off and discovered the bores are scratched, so it needs more than just a new head from Turners, although their engines are an option.
