Notes on gas setup in pics:

Converter is fine, proviso is that the back cover screws need nipping up gently before the screws get water in them and seize. The plastic water fittings break off after 5 years or so, brass fittings in different configs (10mm/16mm, straight/90 degrees) are available from my wholesaler. If you are fitting it, a new rear diaphragm, water fittings and a clean out will make it like new.

I don't use AEB stuff so I can't comment on its suitability. If it works well then that's fine, O2 connection is what makes the gas system worthwhile.

Mixer is OK, I have used these on D1's before, they flow well enough to do a good job.

    It's got a gas conversion

    Symptoms .....

If I flick the gas switch to petrol ... Turn the key ... I can hear the fuel pump prime up for the 3 seconds

Start the car and it will fire up, then die (it's running on the "left over" fuel pressure, from the prime)

If I pull the plug off (disconnect) the MAF .... and start the car .... then it will run on petrol
If I reconnect the MAF plug ... Then it will revert back to the "Fire up then die"

I have tried 2 spare MAF's .... all result in the "start then die"

Nothing to do with spiders? by any chance

    Cheers

i had this simlar problem in the bush yesterday , were i was stuck in around dargo somwhere, i had been running on feul for a while i pulled up turn the car off,

when i turned the car to on i herd the feul prime i then started and then cut out few seconds later,
i then tyred again it started quickley then turn it to gas to which i drove down the road and though id flick it back to feul to see if it run,
and guess what it RAN i drove right into sale and filled the gas just in case

i know before hand on the prevouse trip to philip iland on the returned trip
i had the motor cut out and had these symptoms, i did manage to get home with the gas, when home i found the wire on the pump had snaped and the rest look eaten by the feul,

so im thinking in my case as well could it be the wires on the pump????

    cheers matty

    Cheers for the thoughts Matty

It's all sorted ... that photo of the blue box with the 2 dials and flick switch was the cause of the grief ... someone re-routed the MAF wires to it and figured they could out smart the ECU

Yours is just a case of broken wires ... must say tho, Your getting pretty good at repairing your ride these days
