Why bother when there are better vehicles out there for the job. Notice the gas tank on the back. definately a V8 Petrol, poor old 200TDI wouldn't have a chance without serious mods. VW, Iveco, etc have 6 seater utes/trucks that I have seen up here in Darwin that tow 5th wheelers and you get teh confort of six seats and a fridge between the seats.

    Sorry no photos.

How much $$ for a VW, Iveco, etc 6 seater ute/truck?

How much for an old Disco, chop and lazy axle?

    Maybe that is why bother.

Agree to a point, But a bland white side by side fridge/freezer (sorry I mean Iveco twin cab) does not do it for me. I only need to seat 2 and a fridge between the seats is not on my "must haves" list.

its an early disco judging by the smaller headlights and dash, most probably a 3 door.

the conversion looks pretty well done, pity they didnt repaint the whole car.

I reckon that gas tank would be worth its weight in gold if its towing a 5th wheeler but like Big Jon said, its a cheap way to go for a LR nut. Whats a half decent early 3 door worth, say 3 grand on a good day and then add the conversion cost, must cheaper than a VW or the one of those yank tanks you see everywhere

well done who ever did it

Knowing what I know about Ivecos and the time delay in getting parts from Italy, I would rather have a Land Rover any day!

With that sixwheeler badging it looks like it was done by a company who's work I've seen before. It was an 80 series done from new, set up for a coke delivery guy doing pallet deliveries in the inner city. Carried 6 pallets all up. Set him back (on top of purchase) around $40-K but was an immaculate job on the body converting to 4 doors and 4 seats (all Recaros, with huge engel between back seats) and all the usual extras.

It was a great way for him to build HIS ultimate travel vehicle for his family, and tax deduct it. Was also selectable 6WD. Took it for a drive, was quite taken back. Only LC I've ever driven, and while I'd never own one for the obvious reasons, it would be the only way I would.

The disco looks like a cheap job by comparison.
