Swapping a diff from a 97 manual with uni joint tailshaft to auto 95 Disco donut rear

Im wanting to change the rear diff of my 95 Disco which is an automatic with the rubber coupling.I have a rear diff from a 97 Disco which has the uni joint set up but was from a manual. My question is

Can i use the 97 Disco tailshaft and diff from a manual to put it on a 95 Disco which has a rubber coupling and is automatic?
Are the rear tailshafts the same length?
Any help would be great because my rubber coupling is about to fall off and i want to change to a universal joint set up.

Thanks for that.I took the chance anyway and did a few measurements and they seemed about the same.So i swapped them over anyway and its all good. The only problem i have now is the left hand side axle doesnt want to slide in for some reason. The other side went in fine but this one just wont budge.
