mmmm I think my D1 is the other one 412mhz or what ever it is..I have bought 3 remotes for my car to date and all have been wrong. even though they have had the right code on the back
Has anyone purchased a two button D1 remote off Ebay USA?
USA are also 315mhz so from what I understand it should work. All the advertised remote markings are exactly the same as mine.
FCC ID: KHH 3TXB and CANADA 1984 101 540.
A new remote is $90US or used from $20US.
I believe the remote must be programmed to the vehicle using Nanocom, so has anyone bought one and actually got it working?
My remote is working fine but because of the total dependency on it working, I want a back up before I get stuck.
Thanks
Ryan

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Thanks, so they won't necessarily be correct.
I managed to get the EKA code today so I am feeling a lot less vulnerable.
I was prepared to pay but the Local LR Dealer didn't charge.
On a side note, a remote is $220 plus another $85 to programme.
I do not know why people seem to want to buy these from the US when they actually come from the UK and are a lot cheaper there.
About 10 months ago I bought two new ones and a new case (for my old one) from Ebay UK for 30 pounds delivered. You just need to know what you are buying - part number (stamped on the back of my original) and freq (in my case 315Mhz).
I had no problems with these but the local dealer wanted a full hour to code (I know it takes about 10min) so I passed and a specialist was happy to do it for free when getting some other work done.
When you get them coded make sure the facility is programmed that automatically switches off the immobilizer when the key is in the ignition and the blip is nearby - saves having to push the button when the immobilizer is on.

The reason why I was looking at the USA was because they seem to have the same frequency as AU.
I usually order from the UK as shipping is a lot cheaper.
All the remotes I have seen on Ebay.co.uk are 433mhz and some new remote suppliers even go as far as saying for UK only not USA or AU.
So please share.
Part number on the remote? Or on the immobiliser box?
Do you have the details of the UK supplier?
What type of 'Specialist' to programme the remote?
Good to hear the immobiliser can be programmed off.
Part Number - should be on the back of the remote but sometimes new cases have been put on. The Lucas part number is on the circuit board. If you open the case it is printed there - on one of mine it is next to the battery and on the other two it is on the reverse side of the circuit board at the top. It should be in a format something like Lucas 3TXC.
I bought mine on Ebay UK - they come up every few days - yes most are UK freqs but there are also 315Mhz fobs quite regularly. I got my two new ones after a short search.
By specialist - I mean a landrover specialist who also has the appropriate computer equipment to do the coding.
I am not sure that the immobiliser can be programmed off - what I meant is that if you leave your car unlocked the immobilizer activates after a couple of minutes - normally to switch the immobiliser off you need to do it with the unlock button on the remote - however it can be also be unlocked automatically when you put the key in the ignition as long as the fob is also on the key ring. This works with one of my fobs but not the others so you need to remind whoever codes the security system to the new remotes that this function is to be enabled - if not required don't worry about it.
Cheers
