    D1 300tdi weird vibrations

    G'day G'day
    Got a 95 d1 auto and
I get a weird vibration through the steering wheel when I hit about 40k but then it seems to run like normal. It does this cold and hot and it's got me stumped! It's just happened all of a sudden with no warning. Also noticed some diesel fuel coming from the middle half of the injector pump, could this be the problem?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers spanners

Have you tried swapping the front tyres with the rear tyres?, just incase you have lost a balancing weight off one of your rims.....

    G'day overkill

Checked out the tires and all seem well. It's actualy gotten worse today, seems to vibrate quite a bit now. I'll be cruseing at about 80k then put it in neutral the vibration stops, back again in drive and it's back. Could the transmission be the cause?

I would be urgently checking the front driveshaft Uni-Joints first off then the rear shaft and then ball joints and the panhard rod bushes, good luck, Regards Frank.

Is the rubber coupling donut between the rear propshaft and diff in good condition?

See if it has any cracks etc in the rubber.

X 2 for me for Tank's answer. Same thing happened to me on the way back from a day's gentle offroading. Universal joint getting no grease started making a bad vibration in the front driveshaft.
    cheers
