    Aircon intermittant

    Hi all
Well I've been a bit quiet of late with a few things going on - shame they weren't fun

Added to this the D2's been laid up for about 4 months

In the meantime, our only working Land Rover has developed a problem with the aircon. Hot day, turn on a/c cabin cools down - all good. Park, do whatever return to car, start and get no cooling from the a/c. Alternatively, it may choose not to cool to begin with, but kick in some way into the journey...

When working it's icy cold, so I assume refrigerant is ok, but is there a solenoid that cuts in the compressor, as when it's not working I can't feel any "drag" on the engine - in this instance turning the system on/off/on seems to make no difference...

    Any words of wisdom?
    Cheers
    Mike

On the a/c high pressure side will be a hi/lo pressure switch with 2 wires. If this is cutting in prematurely (with the heat soak after stopping) it will cut off the compressor. Temporarily bridge the 2 wires and if it then works you need a new hi/lo switch ASAP.

    Thanks Bee
I'll hook in and have a look this weekend - hopefully it's just that switch, unless they're as much as a compressor!

    Cheers

A dicky A/C logic and A/C Relay can cut off the A/C , It took me a couple of years to sort that one. on my D1 , behind the drivers kick panel
