    Changing fan belt TDi300

Hi all. Anyone tell me how difficult/cost to change the belt on a 96' Disco TDi300 (I presume). Looking at purchasing and not sure of costs. probably have Mech's do the work, so what is a ballpark of what I would be up for.
The Disco has over 350 ks on it and has not been changed.
    Cheers

Presumably you mean the TIMING belt and not the fan belt ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

The guy referred to the serpentine belt, so I am assuming the "fan" belt. In addition the ABS light is coming on as well, any thoughts?

changing them is easy peasy. Just make note of the pattern the belt takes through the pulley's, can be a pain to remember if its the first time you have done it. The smooth pulleys contact the back of the belt and the ribbed pulleys contact the inside of the belt.

As above belt generally costs around $40, takes all of 5 mins to change, you just need a 15mm socket to pull back on the tensioner pulley. Its easier to do if you get someone to pull back on the spring loaded pulley for you whilst you line the belt up, can be hard doing both, especially if you havent done it before and need the time to make sure its all going the right way.
