    Relocating springs

Ok so after a trip to Harvey I've had a spring dislocate and it's only relocated 1/2 way onto the mount

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this without access to a spring compressor

That's a rear spring. Not too hard to fix.
Jack up the vehicle under the axle as normal and put a stand under the chassis.
Remove the wheel on the spring dislocated side.
Lower the jack until you get enough clearance to push the spring back into place. Hint: You may need to undo the bolt on the brake distribution block to get a bit of play.

That's how I fitted my springs when I fitted the 2" lift. Dead easy. Bit harder to do the front ones though.

Tosave a bit of time i would just drive the same side front wheel up a bank or a ramp or similar to get that side rear to flex downward then give the spring a good kick or bash with a mallet and it should pop state in

To provent it happning again it might be an idea to rap a couple of solid hose clamps around the top coil of the spring and the upper spring mount, even a better option would be to use a 'U' shapped exhaust clamp to be sure they wont break off, (obviously hose clamps are alot weaker)

    Isn't there a stage
"remove shock absorber top or bottom mount"
That's his problem in the first place though, the spring is too short for the shock travel.

The springs are sagged +2 kingsprings and it's just got terrafirma bigbore shocks on it a couple weeks ago.

Real happy with the shocks I knew dislocating was going to be an issue when I put them on but never got round to either putting longer springs in or tying them in some how

you can get dislocation cones cheap from the states and the UK, easy to fit and would solve the problem until you can afford new shocks and springs.

I think just new springs... not shocks

just get some fencing wire or something similar and tie the top of your springs into the seats, i have 2" extended shocks on mine and without being tied they dislocated all the time, they have been tied for about a year and i have had no problems
