    Alarm sensor removal

    Hey all,
    I want to remove the internal alarm sensor from my disco, as it's TOO good.
    Goes off even with a bug inside the car.

    Is it as simple as removing the fuse ?
    or should i remove the actual sensor ?
    will it affect the engine immobiliser ?

    Don't need to remove the Ultrasonic sensor. Just lock the car with the key in the drivers door and unlock with the remote. I had a similar problem as I would leave the windows slightly open with a sunshade on the windscreen. You can guess what happens. A slight breeze and the shade moves the alarm goes off.
    If it is setting off with the windows up then you might have a problem with your alarm.

    What about just sticking some duct tape on it.
    I do not know if it will work but I think so.

    I have just pulled them down out of the hoodlining, unplugged them and refitted. The system doesn't know they are disconnected....

    Another option is to clean the sensors with an alcohol wipe. The get a build up of dust and other stuff on them and then trigger incorrectly.

    this is the way to do it. (its in the manual)
    Had this problem with leaving the window a few times.
    can do as JC says and disconect them , but then they will not work at all.

    The key is easier, and retains functionality when u want it.
