    Exclamation Electrical Problem

    Hi there

    I Have a 1991 disco V8i and i was driving home when the taco stopped working as soon as this happened the engine developed a mis and now when i turn the ignition off the battery light stays on? dose anyone know what has caused this

    taco is a cable that attaches to the alternator, grey and white.. try playing with that..

    my taco sometimes plays up, but its when that cable is loose...

    if the battery light stays on, i dare say problems with the alternator? perhaps have a look at that

    Alternator diode short circuit.

    seeing it a V belt, IMHO you are best to replace with a Bosch alternator.

    Do a search and there are articles on which Bosch alternator by me and others.

    Thanks Guys

    The taco magicaly started working again today and the engine stoped missing? The alternator is definatley about to die but the good folkes at AMV Landrover in Ringwood got me a brand new one
