Not much... Blocking the air intake is probably the only practical way to do it.
How do you stop a tdi fitted with a automatic gearbox.
The turbo has developed a internal oil leak and continues to scream on at high revs till destruction, using the engine oil.
Parking up agaist a wall won't stall it.
The ignition is turned off.
Apart from trying to suffocate it, what else can be done apart from going for a walk and waiting for the smoke to stop?

Not sure how to stop it either but do know its a start of something big $$$.
Wow that's not cool...did you end up getting it stopped??? I used to stall my old 1984 XE Falcon whenever I did a hand brake turn and got it turned around 180 degrees really quickly...don't know if I'd recommend that though you might roll it![]()
give an auto elec a call, he'll be able to tell you what you need to do, you probably have a relay stuck on, which is not letting you electrically isolate when you try to shut down the engine..
best of luck
Only thing that works on an auto (manual you can usually stall in gear) is to suffocate it. Put something rigid over the air intake to seal it. NOT your hand it will break, and not rags they can just get sucked in destroying the filter and turbo. Common problem with Peugeot diesels for a while and it happened to me on a 4 pot marinised diesel mercedes yacht engine.
if your quick, lucky and game enough.
keep it up against the wall with the bonnet open, block the air intake and stab a hole into the turbo intercooler hoses.
If you can get the boost pressure off the extra load from the auto will stall out the 300tdi if its running on engine oil.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
If it hasn't actually happened yet, fit a cable operated butterfly into the air intake by the manifold, then all you need is to pull a knob and it stops. A basic EFI one could easily be adapted.
Cut the oil feed to the turbo, or easier still pull off the pipe from the turbo to intercooler.
If by some amazing stroke of luck you happen to have a Halon (spelling) (ether one) fire extinguisher, let that off in the air intake. back in the day ( and maybe today) fuel tankers had halon tanks plumed into there inlet manifolds just for that reason.
