could be the brake switch located at the brake pedal, if u have cruise there will be 2 switches, recently i also had no brake lights and found that a fuse for factory fog lights was blown , both the fog and brake lights must have been on the same circuit once replaced i had lights again.
as for the high revs, maybe its a faulty stepper motor on the side of the plenum(drivers side 4 wires) others will tell u more
have a search and u will find alot of answers

Is there something that i am missing. A hidden relay or switch thats causing the problem.. I'm desperate as i wont drive it until the problem is fixed and now i have to settle for the company ford ute that hurts my soul to drive it..
Any help is good help and while your racking your brains i also have a fast idle problem on start up it revs to 2000 then drops to below 1000 within 30 secs any suggestions on that one??
