    NO BRAKE LIGHTS

Need a hand people, Didnt notice it myself but a good samaratin informed my that my brake lights were not working. I've changed all globes checked all connections and fuses and still nothing!!!! Is there something that i am missing. A hidden relay or switch thats causing the problem.. I'm desperate as i wont drive it until the problem is fixed and now i have to settle for the company ford ute that hurts my soul to drive it.. Any help is good help and while your racking your brains i also have a fast idle problem on start up it revs to 2000 then drops to below 1000 within 30 secs any suggestions on that one??

    Cheers
    Nicho

could be the brake switch located at the brake pedal, if u have cruise there will be 2 switches, recently i also had no brake lights and found that a fuse for factory fog lights was blown , both the fog and brake lights must have been on the same circuit once replaced i had lights again.

as for the high revs, maybe its a faulty stepper motor on the side of the plenum(drivers side 4 wires) others will tell u more

have a search and u will find alot of answers

Checked the brake switch and its faulty hopefully I'll pick one up tomorrow at ULR in Malvern otherwise its search time.. If anyone here has one they dont need I'll be happy to make space in your spares draw for the right price......

Got a new genuine switch and fitted it today and bingo we have brake lights again also replaced 1 tail light lens on the rear bar since I backed into some shrubs and broke it.. So the disco is back to being sort of road worthy again... Thanks Glenn82 for the advice it was doing my head in... :-)
