If they was a way to drop fuel economy a lot, Land Rover would have done it by now.

With the V8 you have to have long pockets..End of story.

There is something wrong with the tuning of your engine if you are only getting 350km out of a tank. I have had two 94 V8s from new ( a pre update and a post update) and both would get over 500km from a tank - the pre update with multiple fan belts was a bit more economical then the post update with a serpentine belt.

Even if you get as bad as 20l/100km which I never got in 12 years of D1 V8 ownership you should still get over 400km out of a tank.

I used to get about 14l/100km cruising at 110kph and about 17l/100 around town.

There is something not right with your engine.

Throw the pod away and go back to the original filter,,
what you save in fuel wont cover the new engine,,

    does it reach operating temp?

My d1 update is on gas and it would cost me about $30 for 250 kms.
But before my d1 was on gas I was getting the same fuel economy as you are now.
I checked and fixed all my vacuum leads and found the ends swell and don't seal.
I checked and fixed the vacuum advance which was broken.
The main thing was my air flow meter was not working right. The disco had heaps of power and drove very well but there was no way I could keep fuel up to it.
    After I fixed those thing I was getting around 16L / 100kms

    two reasons plugs go black,,
    over fueling
    and over fueling.

You can test the air flow meter,,
    They do fail,,,
