'ya know, I think I have had enough of this car.

What sould I do? Spend a few more thousand dollare I don't really have to spend to fix a the gear box? Where does that leave me? With a 16 year old car that won't start properly and no one can fix, which guzzles fuel like it is going out of fasion....? Which will allways remind me of the conman who ripped me of thousands of dollars on a car that was worn out and worth next to nothing? For the cost of fixing this I could buy a cheap little run arround which would cosrt a fraction of the insurance, and a frction fo the fuel bills, and which would be reliable and cheap to run.

I am sick of this car, I will be selling it, bit by bit or all at once to anyone who is willing to give me a few shillings for it.

Heartbreaking really, my dream car has turned out to be my worst nightmare. But I am not throwing any more good money after bad.

Hey Mattskii, I truly feel for you and what ever decision you make will the the correct one, but remember con men sell all kinds of cars and all kinds of cars can be lemons. This life is too short not to follow your dreams and if you have dreamt of owning a LR you'll need to spend money....either $65k on a basic new D4 or a fraction taking an older model and repairing and massaging her back to what you want - well that is what I think each time I spend on my D2 - now after 4 years I know I have no lemons just a good solid car that will take me and the family were I want and I'm living my dream. Good luck to you.

understand your pain, have a look around you may find a cheaper options to get you on the road, theres one for $300 on ebay at the moment in ballarat.

land rover auto, Cars, Bikes, Boats items at low prices on eBay.com.au

its going to be cheaper than change of brand, and you keep the land rover and when the dust settles you'll hopefully look back and smile ( i hope) its a great looking car and i'm sure with the help of the forum you can get these issues sorted.

i've got two of these at the moment, and they would be my 11 & 12 land rovers of various types , i'll admit there are days, but i would'nt change ownership for the world.

Have a look at the Auto in the Market section. You would have to freight it though, but if the price was right.

What happened the the guy that offer you 4 grand, has he done a runner.
