    ignition amp

My 94 3.9 update Disco has a bosch coil fitted by previous owner, the coil is the one bosch have listed for the Disco and it's number is :0 221 122 392.Electrics is not my strong point so thought I'd ask for help. I want to fit a new bosch ignition amp and am wondering if anyone has this coil on their car with an aftermarket amp fitted.Bosch don't list an amp for the Disco so would like to know what amp I need.I know the BIM 024 seems popular but has anyone fitted this coil and amp combination.Basically I need to know what amp I need for this coil as I don't want to fit a dud combination. The car also runs mostly on lpg.
    Thanks for any guidance

Run the 024 amp as recommended by Beeuty in his thread about this conversion. If required, replace the coil to suit the amp.

I run this coil and amp set up and with the addition of bosch plugs and leads, my 1996 v8 runs well on gas and petrol .But remember to set timing to 10 degrees btdc

Ive been running the original bosch coil from factory on my 94 discovery with the BIM024 for a bit over a month with no problems.

I figured the Bosch factory coil suited the electrics/EFI on the car, so gave it a run with the BIM024, so far so good!

Thanks guys.Today I went out and bought the BIM 024 ignition module and will try it with the existing Bosch coil as I can't see why it would not work o.k and thanks to roverv8 as you have done the same thing with success but time will tell if it is reliable. In regards to the timing,I always set my last 3.9 in an 86 Rangie on gas to 10 degrees BTDC.The new engine though is a low kms Import with the 9.35.1 compression ratio and Beeutey has advised to try it on 6 degrees first and see how it goes. Also has anyone used the Bosch plugs especially for lpg and if so have you noticed any difference from say the Bosch WR7DC or NGK BPR6ES or equivalent.
    Cheers
