    Smile Hub seal question

    Hey guys,

    My left rear inner oil seal let go which resulted in a greasy mess underneath as you could imagine.
    I pulled out the offending seal which was identified as FTC 4951.
    When I look for a replacement, I can only find seal FTC 4785.

    Has the seal been superseded? Or am I looking at the wrong ones?

    '96 300tdi manual non-abs.

    Hi

    Seal RTC 3511 is a good choice as it is double lipped - inner to keep stuff in and outer to keep stuff out.

    Yep, a much better seal to use even though an older model seal.
