Weird heater issue
Hi all, my heater has a new core but recently it is only blowing a low temp warm air(if you get what I mean)
Any ideas?
Heater hoses are new, Engine temp is about half (normal) so I have no idea.

Are the hoses where they go into the heater core hot (both hoses) when the engine is at normal temperature?
Not sure about the V8, but the 300tdi has a constant flow heater, so the temperature is controlled only by flaps etc inside the cabin. never had to play around with mine, so dont know if they are vacuum or cable/lever operated.

Fev,
If the coolant level in the engine is low in the Tdi models it will cause heater to cease blowing hot air, the V8 also but they have to get VERY low to cause the same effect. Both V8 and Tdi are constant flow heaters, except early 1994/95 D1 V8 which have a heater control tap at the drivers side rocker cover area. This was deleted after 1995.
Check the coolant level.

Just replaced all hoses and fluid so all ok there. Mine gas the tap!?! Guessing that could be the issue then. Will check how hot the pipes are tomorrow. Cheers guys.
