A few last min discovery questions

    Hey all,
Giving some serious consideration into buying a 94 2 Door Disco. It's a V8 on gas with the updated interior and covered roughly 245000.

Before I take the plunge I just wanted to ask a few questions-
The fuel pump isn't working, is this a hard fix??
It's really hard to engage High Range 4WD, is that normal?? Low range goes in easy.
The roof lining is sagging, ive seen that's common so figure nothing to worry about??
The gas converter was recently replaced as the last one seized, is that common??
Clutch travel is almost non existent, guessing that can be adjusted??
No oil leaks, but powersteering hose is wet with looks like old oil but apparently the owner has never filled it in the year of ownership.

Thanks for reading through all the questions!

It's quite cheap and was just planning on using it for camping and fishing trips.

Oh and is anything else i should look out for??

    Thanks again!!

The fuel pump assembly should be accessible from inside the load area floor unless there's a gas tank on top of it. VN Commodore EFI pumps are easily adapted, cost generally under $100. Mind you the injectors could be stuffed if its been without petrol for more than a few weeks. Many oz vehicle production Bosch injectors are nearly the same (Falcon, Commodore, Magna etc), and can be got from a wreckers.

As for a gas conveter "seizing", it usually means the service man has decided not to clean out or put a kit through the old converter, often its quicker to fit a new one. It happens occasionally due to waxy/tarry substances dissolved in the LPG, haven't seen it for a couple of years.

PS all discos are the same wheelbase.

The fuel pump isn't working, is this a hard fix??No, $70 from auto parts for a Commodore sedan pump and go to the wreckers for the plug (or get both from the wreckers for about $20)
It's really hard to engage High Range 4WD, is that normal?? Low range goes in easy. Should normally be in high range and slide the lever across to lock the centre diff giving you equal drive to front and rear. This can sometimes be a bit stiff if not used for a while but does normally free up.
When going back to High from low it may not want to go in (same with high to low) and you may need to roll along slowly to get it to engage.

The roof lining is sagging, ive seen that's common so figure nothing to worry about??About $350 to fix I hear
The gas converter was recently replaced as the last one seized, is that common??
Clutch travel is almost non existent, guessing that can be adjusted??Hyd clutch so possibly not, may need to pull off the slave and see if the push shaft has adjustment or not, mines auto so I cant give you a good answer on that but from what I have driven it doesnt sound to be like the norm
No oil leaks, but powersteering hose is wet with looks like old oil but apparently the owner has never filled it in the year of ownership. Power steer hoses are relatively cheap from Rover parts suppliers or take your hoses into Enzed or the like and get a new set made up.

Magnas have the same injectors that are used on hi-po Holdens so if you want bigger ones look for Magnas, but only buy them four at a time or they prob charge you more because they pity Magna drivers.

    Thanks for all the responses.
Looks like itll be a goer considering all the issues seems relatively cheap to fix. Only concern is that the gas tank may be mounted ontop of the access panel to the fuel pump. Is moving it going to be an issue??

    Thanks

Yes. Lift up the carpet rear edge strip and see how far the gas tank hides the access cover. Then work out if the tank can be lifted by undoing a few bolts without removing it totally. Otherwise ask a nice gas fitter to help.
