    Hello everyone! and help me

    First post here.
    and help me! LOL

    Saw a 1992 D1 manual 200TDI few hours ago. Looks pretty decent for its age, good paint, clean interior, 280k on odo. Engine runs smoothly, no strange sound. Didnt get to test it, cos the guy was rushing home. Probably will do it tmr.
    And of course the price is close to 4k or maybe I can get it slightly below.

    I have 0 experience on Discovery, and relative a new driver. I know I should probably start with a Toyota corolla or something, but just cant resist the look of it .

    WHAT SHOULD I DO?? CAN ANYBODY TELL ME??

    if I was you with hardly any driver or mechanical knowledge.. pay couple hundred and get a fully mechanical report... by a landrover mechanic.. there are a few mechanics in melbourne you visit this site...

    a 4000 car can turn into 15000 if you have to repair engine and transmission...

    you dont have to start with a small car.. but the 200 would be well worth spending!

    Shop around a bit if you like the look of the Disco there are plenty to choose from, and get it checked out by a proper Landy mechanic before you buy they will tell if you if it's trouble or not. I recommend Ritters!

    Ditto what both have said - as Young Angus said Ritters is a very reputable company, I have used them over the years and have found them to be very helpful
