    My new toy! Questions Enclosed

    Hi Guys,

Hope you've all had an enjoyable weekend (and monday).

Just thought I'd ask a few q's and share pics of my new toy which is:
    1992 (93 complaince) V8i Disco Automatic, 300k, 7 seats

    First the Q's:
    * In Melbourne is ULR one of the better LR dealers, they seem to have been fair in quoting me prices on a few parts I needed and advised the following costs - 300k Service - $650, Change of both back wheel bearings - $640

    * Is there a good place to get second hand parts - I have emailed steve on ebay, is there another good wrecker around?

I love the beast, I have called it Duncan because apparently he likes to have a drink at the car pub with the other 4x4's

Hi mate , i see you're local to me and i actually answered your post on outer limits . You will see a few disco's for wrecking in the markets section or just try one of the landy specialists in Melbourne - Ritters, AMV,Toorak Tractors , 4WD Blackburn ,LRA Thomastown (for new parts ) . Both prices are way too steep, check the price of new bearings and they arent hard to replace.

I agree with Loanrangie wheels bearings will take about an hour of your time if your good with auto repairs. I have a wheel bearing socket you could borrow. Service for diesels I'm not so sure but geeez it couldnt be that high. What some filters and oil and check Duncan over ( I love the name) I'm out of the country for a month as of next week so if you want the socket let me know asap, Bearings from memory cost me about $50 a side and a tub of grease and like i said about an hour each side and while i was at it I put on new discs and pads and fitted Hi tough axles, so it aint a hard job. Make sure you have a bag of rags and some brake cleaner cause ur gonna need them!

I had all 4 bearings replaced for less than that. Definitely too expensive.

Checkout Roverlord Off Road spares on Ebay or Email: Roverlord@iinet.au. they are quite realistic about new part prices and they deliver very quickly, even to the ass end of Aus (Darwin).

    cheers
