    Unhappy Hot stalling

I have a '93' discovery the last of the 3.5 motors, an every time you restart when warm it stalls if you don't rev a little. I have adjusted the idle up and still have the problem. I have just started having problems when traveling that it is about to stall when I take my foot of the peddle say cruising down hills this does not happen all the time.
Has anybody else had this problem or any ideas on what it could be???

Try taking the stepper motor out and giving it a clean. That's a good place to start.

Is it an auto? Does it less often in P or N than in D or other gear?

your best bet would be to clean the stepper motor as mentioned below it's at the back of the inlet manifold and has a couple of wire's going to it, unscrew it and clean it. this is a common problem as they get dirty cause them to work incorrectly.

I am afraid I do not understnd this unless you (unwisely) shift into neutral.
When you overrun while moving and the revs are over 1500, the ECU cuts off fuel to the injectors, so it is supposed to "stall".

It cuts back in at 1500RPM. When you come to a stop the revs should hang up at 1100 then drop to 600 or whatever. A dirty stepper may cause it to stall then.

Yes it is an auto, it happens when I start so always in P.
Going to try clean the stepper motor out today, and see if that helps.
