Double press remote
Hi all
As a father I realised how much easier it was to love someone that needed you rather than vise versa. This must be why I'm so fond of my Disco 1 300Tdi only 6 months after saving it from parting. For a few weeks during that time the remote button would open with one press but now it's gone back to a steady double press as it was when first acquired. Maybe that was why it was being parted. One press has always worked the lock cycle. Is there something I can do to restore the single press to open? At my age presses don't grow on trees.

Hi Tim.
I'm not sure if this applys to you and your press twice problem. But remote reliability can give problems with the remote battery going flat (not trying to teach yer granny and all that), also the solder contacts for the battery can crack and cause issues.
But the one that may fit is worn contacts in the buttons. I know when they wear the data gets corrupted and the locks never seem to work on the first press. Fortunatly Jaycar sells buttons that fit (SP0601 - $1 x 2).
So with a soldering iron, two buttons, some desoldering braid, a piece of solder and a bit of time you can overhaul your remote to like new status and save those presses.
Oh, and a x10 loupe may help unless you have good eyes (unlike me).
