intermittent problem fuel related ????
Hi there. 95 v8 auto disco while driving revs cut down to around 1500 put foot down or change down gears revs to around 2000 but drops immediately down to 1500 but does not cut out, stop and it will idle fine take off again goes up to 2000 then drops sometime clears in seconds and other times a little bit longer, meanwhile a very jerky or slow ride, when it clears its back to normal. No pattern hot or cold 100kph or 60kph but it seems to getting more regular. Have changed coil, fuel pump, filter and fuel pressure regulater. Any ideas of what to try next. The car was sitting idle in a garage for three years if that has anything to do with it. Have done about 1500ks since. Thanks.

Well the two things that tell the ECU about the load on the engine are the MAF (mass airflow Sensor) and the TPS ( throttle Position Sensor).
I would suspect one or both of these.
Start by putting a voltmeter on the output wire of the TPS and check that it goes from about 0.3 volts up to around 4 .2 up SMOOTHLY with no backsliding as you turn the throttle blade. ANY drop outs and replace.
Clean the MAF first up by spraying electronic circuit cleaner in the little hole to the left as you look through the mesh. Remove the mesh first. Twist the blades in the connector a tiny bit to ensure agood contact and spray them also. Then test the wire nearest to the engine which should have about 1volt with ign on but engine off. Start up and look at the voltage as it should rise with airflow.
