Thread: gearbox problem

Howdy just wanted to post for a friend who does not have great internet access, he has a manual 93 with the 200 td engine and he has problem after bottoming his car out down a dune with engaging 3rd gear will not enter at all he also has a slight hesitation into 2nd... he is hoping for an easy fix... explanation anyone experianced this problem.. best course of action... Aaron from the d2 section...

like the R380 gearbox, the LT77 has bias springs and a plate that separates the springs which can fracture. Take the center console off and look at the gearbox top. If it's not a broken bias plate jamming the lever, you'll have to delve a little deeper ( still in situ) to see if the guides of the gearlever are ok.
