Hi all, i have a 97 300tdi disco, the other day the plastic grey cam that locks the door gave way, i thought id be a bit clever and super glue it back together. No go, the "fix" lasted all of 4 locking unlocking cycles. So i swapped the barrel and cams with the passenger side, all is good except it doesn't have the nobby bit to click in what i believe to be the alarm sensor.
So my question is, will having the car sit locked (the central locking works) but not the alarm enabled cause any dramas. I've had a few dramas with the alarm activating recently. when i turn the key to lock and return to center it doesn't activate, to fix it i just unlock, re-lock no worries. But one time i didn't realise and then the next morning unlocked, opened the door and the alarm went off. Is there a way to totally de-activate the alarm.
