We can't get to the stupid *^%# bolt in the engine mount. Is that part totally necessary? Help!!
Thanks Dave I would, if it could be started - but the old starter motor is dead. The car hasn't left my garage in 5 days!!
And thanks all for your tips - especially about the heat shield bolt in the engine mount, that would have stumped me!
Hopefully I'll get it done today..........fingers crossed!
(p.s. the landrover mechanic did suggest that if I needed to try and get somewhere I should hit the starter motor with a hammer while I had someone turn the key - but alas it was only me here so I didn't get to try out that method)

Alright heat shield out of the way. BUT how on earth do you get to the top bolt?
Right that's it. I reckon you lot are all trying to trick me. I can't do this, so now what? Time for plan B. where's the matches?????
I'm in Cleveland.
When you see the front page courier mail headline "bayside woman goes on mad rampage, dr's diagnose dementure caused by #%^* land rover fever", you'll know it was me!!![]()
They were going to charge way more than I had at any of the mechanics round here.
But I've got $100 thank you for anyone that could assist.
If you can get hold of the 2 exhaust gaskets you need, remove the drop pipe. This will give you more room to get access to the top bolt. Still a pain in the butt to get to though. Need really small hands.
