Thread: 93 3.5 fuel filter.

i recently bought a 96 disco to replace my troubled 93.

the idle would rev up when moving so i would have to use 2nd auto gaer in 50-60 zones.the fuel economy got to 2.5 KM/liter.
spark plugs lasted 5000KM and looked new.

I swaped some parts of the replacment as i intend a full service of the vehicle before it goes into service.

swaping the fuel filter---the 96 wouldnt start.
the 93 has gone back to the 7+ Km/L and lots of power.

but i can blow through both wth the same restriction and fuel was returning to the tank.

I bet the filter was perforated/overloaded and you were running with dirt in the injectors.
