Is there any difference between a 1993 3door disco chassis and a 1993 5 door disco chassis? Are the body mounts the same and will I be able to put the 5 body onto a 3 door chassis?
OK thanks for the reply, much appreciated![]()
one pitfall to watch out for is the location of some of the accessories espsicailly side par work, tanks and electrical stuff.
Its nothing that is insurmountable but the kind of thing that will come and bite you when youre not ready for it.

Possibly seat belt mounts on the chassis, Theres a couple of points on RRC's that have a pivoting eyebolt that pulls the body down to the chassis to reinforce the floor around the rear seat belt bolts. It has a bracket sort of like below where the upside down U is pop riveted to the floor and has the nut welded to it and theres a pin through the sides and the eye (imagine the eye below is 90* out) and then the stud below passes through the chassis plate with a nut to hold it all down. Theres a fair amount of room around the stud to allow for movement/misalignment and I think it's setup like a shock with a pair of rubber bushes each side on the chassis to stop vibes.

My '96 Disco 1 has these eye bolts. Wondered what they were for. There's a couple just in front of the fuel tank and a couple near the centre pillar between the doors.

Thanks for the feedback it is very helpful, I'll have to keep my eye out when i continue working on my disco. So far I've taken everything that connects the engine to the body apart, also taken out the radiator, intercooler and air con core (as they are going in the new body). I'll now start unbolting the body mounts and other various components to get the car ready for its body swap.![]()
If you dont need the eyebolts or the bracket under the floor just drill out the pop rivets and re-rivet to fill, if they interfere with the chassis. They're not structural. Interesting top note that they are smaller than any reinforcing plate that the RTA would require for a seatbelt mount bolt/nut.
