    an unusual window problem.

I have started trying to clean up some of the basic problems with the Disco, the right rear window wasn't working, after reading a few threads here i assumed the regulator was the problem.

After removing the motor/regulator, it became apparent that the problem was much smaller, and hopefully easily fixed.

There is a nylon slide that connects the regulator to the channel fitted to the bottom of the window, the slide has broken so there is no way for the regulator to connect to the glass!

Here is a pic of the problem..

Does anyone know what there are called and where i can get them from?

The lubricant in the channel had gummed up quite badly, what would be a suitable lubricant to use on reassembly?

    Cheers

    Steve

    Greetings mate!
A common problem these days, there are quite a few threads about this "disorder" here already. Apparently, some purchased generic plastic rollers for whatever purpose from any major retail outlet. I did not have access to these rollers either when one of mine decided to fail, so I drilled out the pin, used a shortened bolt with an assortment of suitable sized washers instead. Works a treat ever since. As for the lubricant, common multipurpose grease is what I have used, no problems since, even in below zero conditions.
    Good luck!
    Cheers

White Zinc oxide grease is the go for slow moving stuff.
There is a thread on here about using a roller door roller from bunnings instead of the slider.

Interesting that they used a slider. I've only ever seen rollers in that location.

Thanks for the replies guys, it seems i struggle searching this site

I have just been to Bunnings to buy the roll-a-door roller.

I am off on the bike for 3 days through the High Country, so when i get back i'll have a crack at modifying the window reg.

    Thanks

    Steve
