Hi Rick, I note your comments to Dave and I have a similar problem with my 98 130 with 300+ks in that it only has the fill plug but is seeping very clean oil from the seal on the left side and dipping reveals about 1 inch of fluid still in there. (it is not diff oil)
The right side shows no sign of leaks and about the same level of a deep grey grease.
Would adding the long life grease to the left side possibly stop the leak or do I need to remove all the oil first, and do I just add grease to the right or would it need to be flushed out and then renewed.
Appreciate your comment or any other that might like to put their 2 bobs worth in. Peter![]()

RIP Bucko - Riding on Forever
Been searching for this info as it is not included in the Haynes manual or the owners manual that came with the car. Frustrating! But AULRO forum to the rescue again!
Thanks for the details Rick130. I've checked the level using a plastic rod and it seems there is some there just below the plug (approx 50mm) but this is with the wheels straight ahead - I assumed this was just for ease of access?
What worries me is that one swivel looks a fair bit drier than the other. Is there any risk in adding more? Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
