    auto trans slipping in 97 300tdi

    auto trans ZF does not respond immediately in my 300TDI when I start to drive and seems to be slipping, Fluid is clean done 40 000 k disco has done 140 000 k, Is there an adjustment I need to make when the sump is off when change the filter, Can any share their knowledge please?

    nope, no adjustments to be made.

    you might have a damaged oring or the fluid level is low and thats allowing it to draw air into the pump stopping the TC from priming correctly.

    once its driving normally give it a quick stall test and come back with what RPMS it hits (I dont have my RAVEs or cheat sheet with me and Cant remember the RPMs for a stall in the tdi auto)

    any other symptoms? slow to shift, harsh shifting, sloppy shifting?

    thank you Blknight.com, would you please explain the stall test. incidently the fluid level is higher than it should be--was correct some months ago. i checked it by the book--- rave manual.
