also, voltages for the batteries the other day were, 12.9 (aux) and 13.4(main), so it seems all is good re the charging system, after a good stint on the smart charger for both bateries.

    NEW CAR!!

Fitted egt probe today. (Yes, pointed the cable the wrong way. Oops) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360753077.241985.jpg
While I was there, I just keep looking under the car, and noticing stuff.
There seems to be diff breathers fitted, I take it these are the things thatcome out from long side of axle and are cable tied up to a higher point. Still not as high as the standard air intake point. That ok?

Also the electronics are a mess, cables and tube going everywhere, trying to decipher where to plug the driving lights in, there's plugs in the headlight cavity, but unsure where they're headed...

Mainly though, I'm having a blast!

Great to see you are enjoying the Disco - I am looking forward to picking mine up early March.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    Exclamation HELP!

cheers, Vlad. it's a roller coaster ride.

    Background:
when PAS pump was on it's way out, the air con belt self destructed and took the connector for the clutch coil with it. I tried a couple of time salvaging what was left to make a connection, but no joy, so figured needed new coil.

    Today:

New (2nd hand) compressor arrived this morning, all excited, i pulled it apart, extracted the clutch coil, put mine back together with new clutch coil, wired it up, and still no cold air.
I'm missing something somewhere. Here's my guesses:
1 - a small leak somewhere and i've lost my 134a. (was undriven for a few months after PAS issue)
2 - there was a 'trick' to the OEM connector that i didn't know about, and i shouldn't have ditched it.
3- i should take it to a mechanic, and stop breaking everything i touch. (what the lady reckons)

Any ideas? will keep searching in the meantime.

    Sandy.

sorry for clogging this thread with posts.

PS, was about to 'landy wave' a nice old deefer today, till i realised i was riding my pushbike. :/

    hey.
    quick update,
still haven't fixed the aircon issue.
finally wired up some driving lights, and some under bonnet lighting.
the car has been rock solid, and i'm now getting around 9.3l / 100kms since moving to Yanchep.
Still plenty of work to do.

how do you have a dual battery system? I can't see a snorkel on the Disco images you have shown. I have wanted a dual system but don't have snorkel, could you take a photo of how you are getting fresh air in the intake if I am seeing correctly?? I have a 95 300tdi Disco. GReat car!!

I just hope your air-conditioning is not the TX valve. Requires a whole dash removal to get to it?? Cost me a fortune and they buggered it up the new heater core replacement with hot air on my feet!!

You can still have a dual system without a snorkle there is a slight gap between the second batt. And the air box plenty of room to breath
