Hey guys,

I took my disco 1 v8 to see a auto sparky but they couldn't figure out why when I sit on my break pedal when I'm waiting in traffic I get a slow plume of smoke coming up from behind the steering wheel, if I put the car in neutral and hand brake it at the lights it will stop smoking until I put my foot on the brake again, it doesn't happen everytime just once or twice a week.

Any ideas guys?? Auto electrician was no help.

brake lamp switch WILL get hot if the connections are iffy, also if a non ABS model, the switch is different and much more poorly made. I replace more of these especially after trailer brake controllers have been installed

Also check earth connections there is a main one behind the drivers kickpanel, smoke can drift up behind the column shroud from there I reckon, too.
