What's the lever lower left of steering column ?
Hi guys.
They don't all seem to have this lever and it's not in the owner manual on mine either. Can't even find a picture of it. Dunno what it does ?
It sits below the blinker lever , it's got a rubber sock at base , a slide button and a push button at the end . The whole lever moves around a bit too , think mines broken, dunno .
Cheers

you're not talking about the lever that adjusts the steering wheel tilt are you?
if you pull down on the steering wheel a little and pull the lever down the steering wheel can be adjusted up or down, then push the lever back up to lock it in place

Aftermarket cruise control.
I have a "Command" in my RRC.
The activator is a cylinder maybe in the second battery tray if no second battery.
If it doesn't work then the problem is probably the solonoid pack which is relatively cheap and easy to replace, and parts are redily available from Command at Silverwater Sydney.

Thanks guys , naah not the steering adjustment Harry .
But yeah thinking cruise control , dunno about after market though as it's the same colour and style as the blinker lever and the rubber boot seems to match to but , could be wrong.
What does a discovery cruise control normally look like ?
One more thing , there wouldn't be any chance of it coming on and locking in at a certain speed would there ? Have no clue how to use it or how to tell if it's even working.
Cheers

Drive up to over say 75Kmh .
Slide the slide switch facing the driver to middle to on.
Press button on end.
Take foot off accelerator.
If car continues then it works.
Button on end is set and speed up at 1.4Kmh per push if set.
Slide button is off/on/resume far right or reduce speed by 1.4 Kmh per push if set.
At least I think it is . If not try the slide to set and end button to resume.I sometimes get mixed up even when driving . Old age does that.
Regards Philip A
To decouple press brake, or turn off by moving slide to left. It will also drop out if speed drops by over 10Kmh from set speed on a hill.

Sounds the same as the cruise control on my 1998 300TDI,works ok but the operating lever is very floppy, must fix it some day.You should have a throttle connection consisting of a bead chain connector on the outside of the injector pump. The model in my vehicle is a Liteon CA300 cruise control supplied by Advance Radio of Fortitude Valley.

Yep that's the one guys , thanks for that. Tried it today and I'll be damned , works
.
Yeah Eddy , it does fall about , mines still the 300 but late 99 first reg 2000. Gotta remember to write that in here somewhere , sounds the same and as Phillip's discription, thanks Phil !
Is something broken or is there a way to lock it into one spot or what ?
Now and then if you find the exact spot mine does sort of click into one position and stay put- till ya bump it again anyway , haven't found a way to lock it into it permanently though.
Cheers

Uh ha, had another looky just b4 while I was sitten in the Landy admiring my new gates - drive. It's missing 1 screw , spose to have 3 and the other 2 are loose. Should be able to tighten it after all , it's always hitting my knee.
